After breakfast ,the sightseeing starts on your way to New Belgrade, a part of the city built in the communist era. You will be passing by the Palace of Serbia, its construction and facade reflecting the aspiration for architectural grandiose in the second part of the 20th century. Another example of brutalist architecture is the Genex tower, standing tall among the "chess-like" grid of New Belgrade blocks. You will then proceed towards the Belgrade Arena and Congress Hall Sava Center, pass over the "Gazelle" bridge to reach more vibrant and colourful parts of Belgrade and go on with the must-see program. The next part of the tour involves the elite district of Dedinje with edifices of exceptionally rich architectural value. You will make a short break in front the memorial complex devoted to the history of Yugoslavia, with a special emphasis on the life of Josip Broz Tito, a fierce Yugoslavian leader who pioneered solidarity, unity and peace remaining to be the hero of the nation today. Driving from Dedinje, you will take a glance at the stadiums of FC Red Star, once Champions League winner and FC Partizan. After a short drive, you will hop-off on the top of Vracar hill crowned with Saint Sava Temple. This symbol of Belgrade, with its white and gold exterior beautifully reflecting the sun rays, has a prominent place on the Belgrade skyline and it represents the strong faith of the Serbian nation. The plateau is the home of the Serbian National Library, and it is guarded by the monument dedicated to Karađorđe, the leader of the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire. Following the route of this comprehensive tour, you will be reaching the Slavija square, where just about a century ago, ducks were hunted. Close to it, you will see the remains of the Serbian General Staff building, destroyed during the NATO bombing in 1999. A drive through this hilly part of Belgrade gives you a chance to enjoy exquisite neighbourhoods and eclectic combinations of architectural styles, reflecting the 23 century-long history of Belgrade. One of the most historically significant point is Saint Mark's church that keeps the relic of Tsar Dušan, the most powerful ruler in the history of Serbia. Approaching the nucleus of Belgrade, you'll pass through an administrative triangle formed by the imposing seat of the Serbian National Parliament, as well as the Old and New Palaces as residencies of the City Parliament and the President. After theatrical Terazije square with its remarkable hotel Moskva, we will shortly pass the Republic square, the most central point of Belgrade. You will feel the „beating heart" of Belgrade right beneath your feet once we reach the vivid centre of the city and the Belgrade fortress. Walking from Student's square, an educational hub of the Serbian capital, Uzun Mirko's street will lead you to the remarkable fortress consisting of layers from different epochs. A relaxing walk from Kalemegdan Park to the Victor monument will be the cherry on the top – an unforgettable view over the city and Sava and Danube rivers confluence.
After breakfast the day is free for you to explore on your own. OR proceed with Heading to the North, you'll enjoy the wide, colorful plain of the Vojvodina region. You will notice anisle which "spoils" the simple skyline and the flat morphology of the terrain. This is the Fruska Gora mountain where 17 religious gems of the Serbian Orthodox Church are hidden. We will reveal you one of them which will seduce you with its peace and legacy of the Branković family as the most important benefactor during Serbia's challenging times, the Turkish siege. After the calm beginning, you will be ready for the more dynamic part of the tour. You will be welcomed by the little, charming town of the Sremski Karlovci, its atmosphere reflecting times in history, its polite citizens, and its unofficial mascot Raša. The Patriarchy Palace, Saint Nikola's church, and the first Serbian gymnasium established in 1791 are justifying Sremski Karlovci's title "museum town". One of the best sides of Karlovci would probably be wine production, and therefore you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional winery and try a local sort of wine! Driving along the right bank of Danube, you will pass a church whose details point to two religions interweaving. Shortly after, walls of the mighty Petrovaradin fortress will meet you. This gorgeous beauty has an impressive underground labyrinth that is still not fully researched. Beside of subterrane organized in four levels, there are also seven of them on a surface. Built as a pillar of Austrian defense from Turkish invasion, Petrovaradin fortress was never conquered, nowadays giving us a chance to enjoy the most amazing view over Novi Sad, to feel the energy of the most prestigious European music festival "Exit", and to take a photo with the „drunk clock". As a cherry on top of the cake, walk through the picturesque downtown of Novi Sad, and you will see in the few first steps that this city is a melting point of different nations and ethnic groups, a city with true multicultural ambience. Vivid facades with a specific type of windows, one cannonball in a wall as a remainder, street musicians on each corner, charming passages and a long list of important sights worthy of attention will make you fall in love with this European capital of culture for 2021. As a treat at the end of the tour, you will have some free time to explore this city with slow tempo by yourself, to buy some souvenirs or to taste flavors of the local cuisine enriched with the influence from Austria and Hungary. Afterwards, you will be driven back to your accommodation in Belgrade.
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
